Encounter Christ

The Sacraments

Visible signs of God's invisible grace, celebrated within the life of our parish.

The word “sacrament” comes from the Latin “sacramentum,” meaning “a sign of the sacred.” In the Catholic Church, the seven sacraments are sacred celebrations that mark key moments in our journey of faith. Through them, we encounter God's grace in a real and transformative way.

More than symbols, the sacraments are living signs of God's love — channels through which He strengthens, heals, and sanctifies us.

Baptism

Baptism is the first step in our journey of faith — the gateway to life in Christ and to membership in His Church. Through the cleansing waters of Baptism, we are freed from sin, reborn as children of God, and welcomed into the Christian community. It is both a gift and a call — to live as disciples who reflect God's love in the world.

Confirmation

In Confirmation, the Holy Spirit strengthens and deepens the grace we received at Baptism. It is a sacred moment of empowerment — when the Spirit's gifts are stirred within us, helping us to live courageously as witnesses to Christ. Through this sacrament, we are commissioned to bring faith, hope, and love to others.

The Eucharist (Holy Communion)

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life. In this sacred meal, we receive Jesus Himself — His Body and Blood, given for our salvation. Each time we gather around the altar, we are united more closely with Christ and with one another as one family of faith, nourished and renewed by His love.

Reconciliation (Confession or Penance)

Reconciliation is a beautiful encounter with God's mercy. Through this sacrament, we open our hearts to forgiveness and healing, turning away from sin and returning to the embrace of our loving Father. It renews our relationship with God and with one another, reminding us that His grace is always greater than our failings.

Anointing of the Sick

The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of comfort, peace, and strength. In times of illness or difficulty, the Church surrounds the sick with prayer and anointing, asking God for healing of body, mind, and spirit. It is a reminder that Christ, our Divine Healer, walks with us in every trial and offers us hope through His presence.

Holy Matrimony (Marriage)

In the Sacrament of Matrimony, a man and woman are united in a lifelong covenant of love that mirrors Christ's love for His Church. Through their vows, they become a sign of God's faithfulness and a blessing to one another, their family, and the community. Marriage is both a vocation and a journey — one rooted in love, sacrifice, and grace.

Holy Orders

Holy Orders is the sacrament through which men are ordained to serve God's people as deacons, priests, or bishops. It is a profound calling to lead, teach, and shepherd the Church in Christ's name. Through this sacrament, the grace of the Holy Spirit empowers them to serve with humility, compassion, and devotion to the Gospel.
